Shepherd's Hut in Garstang, Lancashire

The Shepherd’s Hut at Humblescough Farm

The shepherd’s hut at Humblescough Farm is nestled in a quiet corner of our caravan site and overlooks a wildlife pond. You can enjoy the lovely views of the Bowland Fells and watch over the sheep which are usually grazing in the fields.

The hand-built hut has electricity and water. Inside, you will find all you need for a comfortable stay. There is a fixed bed, a folding table with two chairs, along with a kitchen area which has a sink, microwave, fridge, and basic cooking facilities including cutlery and crockery. The bathroom has a shower, sink, toilet, and electric towel radiator. Toiletries are provided.

There is a TV and a radio but there is no WiFi, which gives you a perfect opportunity for a digital detox. Storage is provided in a tall cupboard and in the large drawers under the bed.

We aim to be as environmentally responsible as possible. Eco-friendly washing up liquid and cleaning products are available in the kitchen area and we try to ensure that the complimentary tea and coffee are fairtrade.

A covered outdoor area is located next to the hut. There are chairs for outdoor seating and a box of supplies for a barbecue – charcoal, firelighters, and foil trays. If you need any additional supplies, these can be purchased from the farm. Car parking is available next to the hut.

Our Shepherd’s Hut is a place where you can relax and enjoy being surrounded by peaceful farmland with an abundance of wildlife. The site is quite dark, making it a great place for star-gazing on a clear night.

We include a bag of locally-sourced wood, kindling, a firelighter, and the loan of a firepit so that you can enjoy sitting outside in the evenings by a campfire. Extra bags of wood, kindling, and firelighters can be purchased from the farm.

There are plenty of interesting places to visit in the local area. Blackpool, Morecambe, and The Lake District are within easy access. The charming town of Garstang is a ten-minute drive away, and there are opportunities for cycling and walking in the nearby area.

The hut is £80 per night for 2 adults. Bedding, towels, and tea towels are included.
